Male reproductive system

The male reproductive system is positioned outside the body and around the pelvis region of a male that’s primary function is the reproduction process and provide the male sperm for fertilization of the ovum.

It divides into three categories. The first category produces and stores sperm (spermatozoa) in the testes. The 2nd category is the ejaculatory fluid producing glands which include the Cowper's gland, prostate, seminal vesicles, and vas deferens. The 3rd category includes the penis, urethra, and used for copulation and deposition of the sperm within the female.

Testosterone.

The testes release a hormone and control the development of sperm. This hormone is also responsible for the development of physical characteristics in men such as deep voice and facial hair.

Female reproductive system

The female reproductive system placed inside the body and around the pelvic region of a female that functions in the reproductive process. The female reproductive system contains three main parts: First the vulva, which leads to the vagina or the vaginal opening to the uterus, 2nd the uterus which holds the fetus and 3rd the ovaries which produce the female's ova.


Female genitalia

The vagina meets the vulva which includes the clitoris, labia and urethra. During intercourse, this area is lubricated by mucus secreted by the Bartholin's glands. The vagina is attached to the uterus through the cervix and the uterus is attached to the ovaries via the Fallopian tubes. Each ovary contains hundreds of egg cells.
